According to data of Turkey Statistics Institute (TUIK),  close cities to Istanbul such as Tekirdag Çanakkale, Yalova, Sakarya, Kocaeli take migration regularly. The net migration rate in Tekirdağ and Yalova is over 20 percent.Cities like Eskisehir, Muğla, Antalya are also among the cities where people prefer to start a new life.

Statistics show that young and qualified population breaks the route to Izmir.Inci Holding HS Diector Serap Manisalı stated that like many other cities Izmir had given human capital flight to Istanbul but especially in last two years this movement had been reversed. Manisalı underlined that Izmir became a center of attraction for white-collars and continued as follows:

“We see that thousands of white collar come to Izmir to set up a new life. We monitor this increase carefully from business applications made to our company. According to TÜİK, Izmir is taking migration of around 120 thousand from Turkey annually while giving 100 thousand. İzmir's net migration rate has reached 5.8 percent. It shows that more people come than those who leave. There's also a white-collar issue. According to TÜİK  data, 36 thousand 749 people between the ages of 30 and 55 years immigrated to İzmir in 2017. The number of immigrants from Istanbul is more than 16 thousand and there is an increase in managers over age of 40 who are looking for a jobs in executive  positions in İzmir. Just in the first six months of 2018, we received over 46 thousand job applications as Inci Holding. Among the applicants, 9 thousand were residents of Istanbul and 23 thousand applicants were out of Izmir territory. 15 thousand of the applicants are women and 3 thousand are over 40 years old. We are pleased with the intense interest to our company in this period. We consider Izmir taking attraction of high educated and qualified brains as a great achievement for both our company as well as our region.”
